As with any organisation it's the people that make the company and Atlantic Foods is no exception. At the heart of the business is the core management team with a range of specialist skills and a shared passion for good food.


Russell Maddock - Chief Executive
Russell comes from a strong commercial background working for companies such as London Larder, Haagen-Dazs, Grandmet Foods, Ginsters, Hazlewoods; and more recently at Maison Blanc as Managing Director. A business leader who has a passion for food, strong strategic vision and is highly skilled in both brand and business development, he brings with him extensive experience and knowledge of the foodservice, leisure and manufacturing markets - as such Russell is dedicated to leading Atlantic Foods' continued success.
Edward Baker - Managing Director
Edward's entrepreneurial spirit is matched only by his energy and enthusiasm. The main driving force behind the company's spectacular growth, Edward has been with Atlantic Foods for over nine years after successfully running his own food distribution business based on the south coast. In addition to his sales responsibilities, which include some of the company's biggest customers, Ed plays a major role in product procurement.
Nigel Parkes - Commercial Director
With 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the food industry working for the likes of Wander Foods, Northern Foods, Smilde Food Group and Plusfood UK; Nigel brings a wealth of experience to the team, including the last ten years spent specialising in foodservice. Having joined Atlantic Foods in February 2005, he continues to be one of the corner stones of the business, driving the sales and marketing function as well as managing some of the company's key accounts.
David Grainger - Food Development Director
David's track record speaks for itself, with 19 years at De Vere, he rose from Commis Chef at The Grand in Brighton to Food Operations Manager at De Vere's Head Office, along the way managing to pick-up The Toque d' Or Mentor Award two years running. Well known and respected in the foodservice industry, David was previously chairman of the Food Development Association, during which time he became an active member of the Associate Parliamentary Food and Health Forum. Responsible for product development and improvement, innovation and food trends, as well as supplier and customer liaison and management, David is the creative flair behind much of Atlantic Foods' innovative concepts, and brings his invaluable chef expertise to the team.
Brendan McIntyre - Technical Director
With 25 years experience in the foodservice industry, Brendan heads up Atlantic Foods' technical department. Originally trained as a Craft Butcher and a graduate of the Institute of Meat, Brendan's background includes nine years as Technical Manager for Global Food Trading, as well as previous roles including Meat Inspector and an Environmental Health Technician. He is qualified to audit to BRC Food Standard and ISO9000 systems, and his in-depth experience of Food Safety enforcement and Food Safety systems management extends to UK, EU and non EU food business, ensuring Atlantic's food safety and supply chain record remains exemplary.
Kim Dottson - Operations Controller
One of Atlantic Foods' longest serving employees, Kim joined in 1994 and has been a key member of the team throughout her 14 years with the business. Her role is wide ranging, covering the supply chain and stock control management, customer service and sales administration. Tasked with ensuring the behind the scenes systems and structure, Kim delivers a seamless service to customers and is a crucial player in the smooth running of the company.
Neil Helyar - Food Development Chef
Neil joined Atlantic Foods in 2007, strengthening the chef focus of the business. He comes with a strong operator background, with over 15 years experience in kitchen and resort management with Rank Group and Bourne Leisure. Prior to joining Atlantic Foods, Neil was responsible for developing the food offering for the Butlins brand. His background has given him an invaluable insight into the sharp end of the foodservice market, which, paired with his chef skills and innovative ideas, has made Neil a real asset to the business.
Nick Jordan - Sales Manager
With a wealth of experience in foodservice sales, Nick's main focus is the wholesale and cash and carry channel. Although Nick has managed a variety of different product groups, he has a strong background in value added poultry, having worked for Mayhew Chicken (part of Northern Foods), The Smilde Food Group, Plusfood UK and most recently Perdigao. A key member of the team, Nick is foodservice through and through.
Colin Davis – National Accounts Controller
Colin worked as a chef for 20 years, training with Thistle Hotels and specialising in large event catering, before moving on to work as Head Chef for Lord Yarmouth at Ragley Hall. Colin then moved into direct frozen food sales with Cearns and Brown, and went on to spend time in various National Account Manager roles with manufacturers before being appointed Sales Director with KK Fine Foods. Colin brings a vast amount of foodservice sector experience to his role as National Account Controller with Atlantic Foods.
Alistair Waite – Purchasing & Logistics Manager
Alistair has a wealth of experience spanning 25 years in the food industry. During that period of time he has enjoyed a number of successful management positions gaining knowledge and experience in warehouse design, food production, project and operations management, third party distribution and franchising. More recently he enjoyed purchasing responsibility for two leading companies in the QSR sector.
Lorraine Atkins – Development Manager
Lorraine has a valuable 17 years experience in the food industry, working for manufacturers, retailers and foodservice providers such as Sainsbury’s, Cadbury’s and RHM across a broad range of product categories. She has a genuine passion for food innovation and is dedicated to providing successful menu solutions. Lorraine liaises closely with suppliers and customers to develop both bespoke lines for individual customers, as well as core products and ranges for Atlantic Foods.
